1967 Ford Shelby GT500 History

The Shelby Mustang was a high performance car that was an offshoot of the Ford Mustang. It was built from 1965 - 1970. People all over the world love the Shelby Mustang's power, performance, and its muscle car stylings.

For 1967, the GT 350 carried over the K-Code high performance 289 with a 'COBRA' aluminum hi-rise. The GT 500 was brought into the lineup, equipped with the 428 Police Interceptor. These later cars had a few of the performance modifications of the 1965-66 GT350s, although they did feature more cosmetic changes. In September 1967, production was transferred to the A.O. Smith Company of Ionia, Michigan, under Ford control.

1967 Shelby GT500 tribute for sale online - The automobile keeps the authentic Brittany Blue Paint along with white stripes. This particular Shelby had been Dragraced in 1968-1970 at Englishtown Raceway in New Jersey. There is a substantial variety of stickers detailing its racing success on the back window. The background involving this car following the early 70's is that it was sold to a man in Florida in 1976. It stayed in storage most of that time. The drive-train was maintained professionally while in storage and parts of car were cleaned. The engine is thought to be original as well as the C-6 Transmission however that has not officially been verified. The dual carbs are the BJ and BK stampings. The headers are even now open and the 428 power intake sounds like it is once again prepared to tear em up in DS/A class. Small amount of rust on the back passenger fender.
